Buyer Beware:

The Garlington Yearbook finally arrived and it did not meet the advertising promises. It is nothing more than an out-of- date phone book with shades of Halberts, Beatrice Bailey and Sharon Taylor all over it while lacking in the "quality" of these famed scam artists. Most of the information is available free on the Internet from Social Security Death Index and other sources. The so-called history is boilerplate generic verbiage that could be written about any surname. Anyone with one day of research behind them would know more about Garlingtons than these people presented in this pile of poorly photocopied cheap paper. Although advertised as an update of the The Garlington Family History, don't believe it. It doesn't come close and shouldn't be mentioned in the same sentence with Scogland's 1976 work. Save your money or give it to your favorite genealogy library or society if you must spend, but don't order this trash thinking you are getting a Garlington history. Be on the lookout for a one page flier mailed from a guy in Boulder, Colorado. He leads you to believe he is a GARLINGTON. I believe his name is Maxwell MacMaster and even that name may not be a fraud. This is the latest genealogy scam artists dipping into your wallet. Beware.
