From the Harrisburg Patriot of September 24, 1875
About half past nine o'clock yesterday morining, a man named Tobias Garman while engaged in digging a cellar for a new building at Baldwin, was almost instantly killed by an embankment of earth to the extent of nearly two tons falling upon and crushing the life out of him. Garman was a married man and leaves a wife and several children to mourn his sudden death. Having several sick children in the family, the husband remarked to his wife when he left home in the morning on his way to work that he would call on a physician and send him to his house to see the children. This errand he accomplished before he went to work, the physician having called to see the sick children and left a short time befor their father was brought home a corpse
