There were 2 Benjamin Garmans who died in 1864. Benjamin F. Garman, born 1822 in Dauphin county (Pennsylvania), the son of Samuel Garman and his first wife, Magdalena Maria Huy died Nov 30, 1864 and is buried, along with brother George W. Garman, in the Duncannon cemetery in Perry county, Pa. Both brothers served in the civil war.

Benjamin Garman, the son of Jacob "David" Garman and Elizabeth Brightbill was born in 1843 in Dauphin county also and is the one who died May 9 1864 in Andersonville Prison in Georgia.

As both of these Benjamins served during the civil war and were both born in Dauphin county in Pennsylvania, it is easy to confuse the two.
