Yes, I'm a descendant of John and Sophie. They were my Great, great grandparents. Their son, George Washington and his wife, Elizabeth were my great grandparents and their son, Charles Shepherd and his wife Charlsie Ann, were my grandparents. My mother, Violet, was their daughter. I am 60 years old and the reason I know what I know is because at least 20 years ago, my mother received a book that someone in the family had published. It's title is "Trees and Branches" by Pauline Garmany Vaughn. I don't think I ever met Pauline and I think she's one of many cousins in the Garmany clan. I looked her up on the web and found that she died in 2001 (I think). She was 81. My mother had 12 siblings and when we used to visit them in Alabama, I'd never seen such a big family. Garmany is an unusual name, so I figure that most Garmanys are reated some how.
