Louis Garnaud: 1663 wedding was celebrated at the Notre-Dame church in Quebec City.
The church records show that it was in that church. And I have a
photocopy of the notarial act that states so.
For your info. Recently an expert has found the record of Jean Garnaud baptism, in the Notre-Dame d'Or, church in La Grimaudière, son of Pierre Garnaud and Jeanne Barault. This would be Louis's brother. Are you in a position to asccertain, your family were vignerons in Burgundy till 1935
Prisque Garnaud it is not proven he changed the spelling of his name from Garnaud to Garneau. He could not read nor write at this time. The cleric that registered the name in the parish record is probably the one that committed this impair. But you can find many ways to spell many names. Wish to know more about your family
and how come it landed in England
Thanks
