I did the geneology of the Garneau family. Louis came to Quebec city in 1659. His wife was not an orphan. She came from a family of wealth. They owned hotels in La Rochelle, France.
How much do you know about this Garneau who came there in 1810. Last summer I visited Quebec City, and went to the original site of my ancester in L'Ange Gardien. It was quite interesting. I always wanted to visit this site.

In my geneological records I have missing names and would like to trace their wherebouts. How far back can you go with names of relatives? I live in Canada. My father was born in a little town called St. Croix Lotbiniere, Quebec. It is about 30 miles from Quebec City.
I know that all the Garneau's in North American can trace their family back to L'Ange Gardien, Quebec. Louis came here alone and his wife came with her brother, but we think he returned back to France. She was a Calvinist when she married Louis in a civil ceremony but changed her religion and married in the Catholic church two weeks later. There were alot of Calvinist who came to Quebec, but they were not welcome and some left for Manhattan, New York . They were called Huegenots (not sure of the spelling). These Huegenots were the bourgoisie of France. Many escaped persecution and migrated all over the world.

I am really interested in this biscuit and the man who made it? Please keep in touch.
