My great-great grandfather is Modeste Garneau married to Elisabeth Mitchell. You are the first person I have found in years of searching who is related to Modeste Garneau. My mother's father spelled it Garno - probably anglicized when they came to the US. His father was John Edgar Garno(eau). Do you have any more information about this family? I'm dying to know from whence I came.
