I'm looking for any information on Kyra Garnes, maiden name McDonald. Kyra was a stage name, her given name was Hortense. She was born in MO, probably after 1890 as that is her parents marriage date. Her mother, Martha "Kate" Wilson McDonald Lackey was my fathers aunt. My father lived with his aunts family in the 1920's when he was a young child. Hortense (Kyra) made a name for herself as an "exotic" dancer and traveled the world. She married a Mr. Garnes and my father believed they lived in the Pacific northwest as well as Alaska. I know she was married by 1933 as she was listed as Kyra Garnes at the time of her step-fathers death in 1933. I do not know of any children born to Kyra. My father often wondered what became of her, hence my search for information on her.
