Joseph Chesterfield, Lord Chesterfield, or Jack Garnes b. Barbados

Names of:

Joseph Chesterfield Garnes
Jack Garnes
Lord Chesterfield Garnes
b. Abt. 1873 in Barbados
This is my gggrandfather and he was married in England in 1908. His name has been listed in all three of the above ways. Profession in 1908: "Ship's foreman."

Samuel Garnes

Father to above, so guessing birth date approx. 1834-1854. Born in Barbados. His occupation in 1908 is as a "Groom," so I'm guessing this means a horse groom.

My research has hit a dead-end here, so unfortunately, I don't have any other information about location in Barbados, occupation, etc. Maybe I can tie into other Garnes research if dates and location match? Any other thoughts welcome, even if just to direct me to other sites or sources or books. Currently looking on ancestry.com, genealogy.com, familysearch.org.
