Probably the John Garnett of Barren County that you are inquiring about is the rather prominent John Garnett, born July 28, 1751 in Virginia. He married Elizabeth Ann (Betsy) Rogers in about 1771. He had many Virginia Grants and also Kentucky Land Warrants. He was a son of Anthony Garnett who also came to Kentucky and died in Lincoln County March 1784. John Garnett had a very large family and died January 13, 1834 in Barren County. His will is there. He was an early judge and his name appears in the oldest record of the Barren County Circuit Court, June 1799.
