Albert C. GARNETT did remarry. He married my great-great aunt, Nora Helena DAVIS (1869-1931), in Traverse City in 1895. My father told me that Albert was known as Bert and Nora was referred to as No in the Davis family. Nora was born in Hamlin, Monroe Co., NY to William Nelson Davis and Cornelia Whiting ADAMS.

According to a Grand Traverse Co. probate records index transcribed online, Albert and Nora adopted a child, Ralph CORWIN, renamed Ralph Corwin Garnett. According to the 1900 census, Ralph was born in Iowa ca. 1898. He died in Traverse City of scarlet fever in 1903. Perhaps Ralph was the daughter of one of Albert's sisters?

As far as I can determine, Albert and Nora had no other children. In a later census, Nora indicated that she'd given birth to 0 children and 0 were now living. Nora died in Ann Arbor, MI, in 1931. I don't know when Albert died.

I am interested in any additional information on these people. My e-mail is jdheaps AT comcast DOT net
