A little bit extra relating to Mabel's putative father :

The last deed to which Thomas Garnett, father of Mabel, was party was the Bond for £200 WD WHELP 2/T 28 dated 12 June 1718 to Christopher Garnett of Toskr “for a legacy of £100 devised by Thomas Garnett deced. late father of the obliger and obligee within mentioned”. Attached to the Bond is a receipt for £35 dated 10 February 1730/1 paid by James Ridding, William Moorhouse and Edward Willan, executors of Thomas Garnett to Robert Holme and Jane Townson, executors of Christopher Garnett. The executors of both of these wills are of interest. In the case of Thomas, Edward Willan is already known to be his son-in-law and James Ridding is possibly related to Jane, the putative wife of Thomas (possibly her brother). This is further evidence that the marriage of Thomas Garnett & Jane Ridding is ancestral. Both of the executors of Christopher’s will are mentioned in the 1726 will of William Garnett. Robert Holme is the husband of Christopher’s niece Christabell, and Jane Townson is William’s sister-in-law. A number of conclusions can be inferred from this document:
•       Thomas Garnett of Mansergh Hall Houses was alive on 12 June 1718, but died before 12 June 1726 when his brothter William made hi will
•       Thomas had a brother Christopher, making a family of at least seven siblings
•       The father of this family was another Thomas
•       Christopher is not mentioned in William’s will (1726) so possibly died before this date
•       Christopher’s choice of executors for his will suggests that he had no children
•       The deed provide further evidence that Jane Ridding was the wife of Thomas
