Garrard - Waters connection ???
Posted by: Helen Court (ID *****5410) Date: March 04, 2003 at 16:53:26

Does anyone out there know of any connection between the Garrard (Virginia-Georgia) line and the Waters (very early Virginia) ?

The specific giving rise to the query: William Waters Garrard of Augusta GA, an eminent lawyer of the prebellum days. I've got the Garrard line back to Jacob in colonial Virginia. The Waters is hard to work out. At the same time, my greatgrandmother Helen August Garrard Glenn, born Athens lived Atlanta died farther North, went into the Colonial Dames at the end of the 19th century on the basis of Edward Waters, who came to Virginia circa 1608. I know that Edward had son William who had son William, and a bit beyond that. But I cannot connect Waters and Garrard.

Help ?? Thanks.
