Dear Mr. Edwards,
I am not descended from Governor Garrard's direct line, but a collateral line listed in the Garrard book.
According to all we are able to determine our Ancestor Jacob Garrard Sr. was a first cousin of Col William Garrard the father of Gov. Garrard.

1.Jacob Garrard one of three brothers landing in Virgina around 1750.married Mildred or Milly.

2.Jacob Garrard Jr.married Elizabeth Harris

3.James Garrard married Rebecca Pinnion

4.Greenberry Garrard married Nancy Ann Moore

5.John Franklin Garrard married Mary Parthenia Dalton

6.George Washington Garrard married Deliah Dell Taylor

7.Lewis C. Garrard married Gertrude Louise Holcombe

8.James Edward Garrard married Maranda Jewell Stafford my parents.

All this is from memory and will take awhile to get more detailed info together. Our family followed a path that took them through Virgina,North Carolina,Georgia, and then settling in Marshall and Etowah Counties in North Alabama.I moved with my parents to Southern Alabama in 1965
and now live near Fairhope,Alabama, near Mobile Bay and The Gulf Of Mexico.

Thanks,
James M. Garrard
