I'm not related to Garrard. But being a genealogy buff felt I had to let you know there is a recent book that goes into your family name extensively. Many were revolutionary war soldiers, governors, legislaters, etc. The title of the book is "The Road To Poverty The Making of Wealth & Poverty in Appalachia". It's by Dwight B. Billings & Kathleen M. Blee. Cambridge University Press put it out in 2000. I guess you can buy it but I found it in our library. I wish there was a book this extensive for my McClellands.
