Ann and Margaret Garvin, County Antrim Ireland to Morris Twp. Ontario
I am looking for information on the family of my GG-Grandmother Ann Garvin, born 1834, a native of County Antrim, near Armagh (site unknown but thought to be in Killylea Parish). She emigrated to Canada as a young woman with her sister Margaret.
In Barrie Ontario, she met and married George Smith (her sister Margaret married George's brother Joseph Smith at the same time)
They settled in Morris Township, Ontario, Canada (near the Village of Brussels) and three succeeding generations worked that farm until it was sold in 1966.(Margaret and Joseph had the farm next door)
Scant information handed down says that 2 other sisters and a brother also came to Canada: one sister, "Mattie" married a (nameless) man near London, Ontario.Another (nameless) sister married Thomas Mason near Clinton, Ontario, and the brother David "Dave" Garvin took up farming near Barrie, Ontario.
Any information on this branch of the Garvin family or their roots in Ireland would be greatly appreciated.
