sp-SUSAN nee?
Wesley & Susan Gassaway had a daughter, Sarah Gassaway, born c.1846 in GA. Sarah Gassaway
married George Washington Powell (1847-aft.1900). George Powell and his wife Sarah are shown in the
1870 Census of Colbert Co., Alabama with a son John W. Powell born about 1864 in Alabama. In 1864
George & Sarah would have only been about 14 & 15 years old. Their marriage record appears in
Chickasaw County, Mississippi in 1867.
Why did George & Sarah marry in Chickasaw, Mississippi? Where was Wesley Gassaway at that time?
Wesley Gassaway was in Lumpkin, Georgia in 1850.
Wesley Gassaway was in Winston, Alabama in 1860.
Wesley Gassaway was in Colbert, Alabama in 1870.
When did Wesley Gassaway die? What happened to his wife Susan Gassaway?
Is anyone researching this line?
