What was your fathers name ? I am just trying to help you out okay ? Capt. Charles Gassaway was John Hanson Gassaways cousin & My Great Grand fathers, Fathers William Augustus Gassaway cousin - 1st cousin . I just was reading wills from Mont. Montgomery county . 1850,s& back Just because I said I wish I had a happy, child hood, like what my father had ?? don't read into this to much ,I know that writing on line is different from writing a letter I don't know computer language. I was 19 & apple was just coming out ! I am 45 years old now ! I am a welder & metal fabricator this summer I wish I was inside a freezer. standing temp is 110 degrees with the flame on ! not to mention the heat from the 5400 degree welded pool of white hot metal trailed by a bead on the steel peace& Today, I am off. I have been trying to locate a Gassaway's from Baltimore since I was young, I am not at all like my cousin Billy (William Gassaway) We are North & South and second cousins at that ! I am not a computer person so if my writing is not perfect please please don't take it the wrong way , I am trying to help you find your fathers place . Okay we don't have to be related ! Maybe, I came on to strong ! I was just thrilled to actually speak to another Gassaway that is alive ? My mother told me for years that We were it !only the family's slaves cared our name also. I was ashamed of that ,that we owned slaves at one time . I was interested in the gassaway because I was a Gassaway . Okay take what I say with a grain of salt .i was just very happy to make your acquaintance. sincerely yours ,John M. Gassaway
