Edward P. Gately was born 20 June 1886 in New Jersey. He had a
brother, William. Their father was Joseph Gately, born in
England. (Edward's death certificate supports Joseph was from
England)
Joseph and his sons were musicians during the Big Band Era.
They played in various beer gardens in New Jersey and
Philadelphia,PA.
Joseph, supposedly took a trip to Virginia to obtain
entertainment to bring back to N.J. He slipped off the boat and
into the icy waters and drowned. We would love to find where
Joseph is burried, and also his date of birth and the county
name in England where he was born.
Any information on this Gately family would be greatly
