If Thomas came to the Boston area, then it is a possibility. Your Thomas is eight years older than my Thomas's wife, Anna L. Dundon, so that makes it seem unlikely but not impossible if he did indeed come to the Boston area from England.
Do you have any more info on your Thomas(like a son, Harold?) Let me know what you find out-if this is him, he married Anna Dundon in 1913 or so in Boston
