There was a John P. Gately who was an Army Sargeant in the 16th Army in Europe during WW2. His mother was Catherine Gately. They resided at 9 Inwood Street, Dorchester, Mass. I am a collector of war letters and war diaries. I just acquired a big batch of the original handwritten letters that John wrote home during the war. This is how I know this much, but I want to learn more.
