Starting Sept. 5, 2014, Genealogy.com will be making a big change. GenForum
message boards, Family Tree Maker homepages, and the most popular articles
will be preserved in a read-only format, while several other features will
no longer be available, including member subscriptions and the Shop.
Hello! Michael Francis Gately was my paternal grandfather. I have just started our family geneaology and found your post. Grandpa Gately was indeed married to Philomena Catherine Hugo. They had 8 children: Thomas, Michael Jr., Agnes, John (Jack), Vincent, James Bartholomew (Jimmy), Martin (my dad), and Robert. Grandpa died in the early 60s before I was born. At the time, they were living in Alta Loma, Texas (now know as Santa Fe, Texas). Grandma died in about 1982 in Alta Loma. Still surviving are Michael, Agnes, Jack, and my dad Martin. There are tons of Gately descendents in the Texas Gulf Coast area. I believe Grandpa and Grandma moved to Texas during the Great Depression. Prior to that, they owned a flour mill in Nebraska (my dad was born in West Point in 1927 and they moved when he was about 8). Anyway, I would to get in touch with you so we can exchange information. My email is email@example.com. Thanks!
