Hi Kay,
Sorry, I never saw your reply.I got my information at the Lincolnshire Archives in Lincolnshire, England. They have the original wills, inventory lists, and parish registers for Miles Garthwaite. They also have genealogies from the Harlequin Society that include the Garthwaite/Gathright family and other allied families.I believe copies of the originals can be obtained for a fee by contacting the archives. The last time I checked into it (and admittedly, this was several years ago) you had to pay for these in British pounds. So it would be a bit of a chore.
I was also able to go the the church in Grantham where Miles was a rector/vicar.It has a plaque with all the rector's names on it, and his is included. It also has the original baptismal font where he probably baptised his children. This is unusual, because during the time of Cromwell most "papist" trappings were removed from churches.
I took pictures of all of this, but somehow lost my roll of film on the way home.
If anyone has obtained copies of these documents, or has good information on the Garthwaites/Gathrights I would love to have it.I lost most of my important documents and the CD I saved my file on when I changed computers will not open.Luckily, alot of the info I had is now available online, although this still means alot of work for me to reconstruct my file.
My children are related to the Gathrights through Annie Pearl Gathright, daughter of William Edward Gathright and Frances Cordelia Little.
