Gauvreau/Govro Family

I am searching for my G-G-Grandfather, who is listed as John Govro on the 1850 U.S. Census, and as being born in France. My research to date has found that he was more probably born in Quebec, and that his name was probably spelled Gauvreau. His birth date was around 1800-1810. His wife Mary was born in Vermont 1816-1817, leaving me to believe they were married in Vermont. Searches of the Blue Drouin and at the Vermont General Services center have yield nothing in the way of marriage or birth records.

If any of you can help me remove a brick from this wall, I would appreciate your assistance.

Gary Govro
Crystal, MN
