Canadian Gavins (originally from Ireland)

Searching for info on my GGrandparents John & Mary Gavin. They are not on the Canadian census of 1910 and are not on the Canadian passenger lists of 1925 as listed at the Archives of Canada. I do know that they lived in the Aldershot/Hamilton Area and had several children (in no particular order): Jack, Thomas, David Edward, Mary, William, Robert Eugene (my grandfather, b 05/20/1920, d 26/06/1987), and Russell. I met a woman once when I was 16 that knew this family and claimed they were from Ireland originally but didn't think my grandfather was born there, so that would put them in Canada around 1911-1920 arrival. If anyone has any information it would be greatly appreciated.
