HI Chris,

I am so glad to hear from a Gavin in Indy. I am not having much luck with my side of the family. I have working on this off and on with it for twenty years. I grew up in Indpls.

I am Teresa Gavin Vaughn daughter of Francis J. Gavin
b. 2.Mar. 1906 d. 25 May 1991

He had a brother Robert. Their parents name were
Martin P. Gavin b. 11-4-1969 d. 2-10-1941 and Bridget Dugan (both buried in Holy cross Cemetery) Martin worked on the railroads in Hauville, Indy.

On the death certificate, Martinís parents were William Gavin and Bridget Dugan (no relations to the other one). The only thing that I can find on this family is from the 1870 census in Clark, Johnson IN. William Gavin was born in Ireland in 1840 and Bridget the same. William was a farm laborer. Their children are Bridget b.1860, John b.1862, William b.1865, Mary b.1866, Agnes b. 1868 and Martin b. 1869. I hope that you are related to William Sr. or. Jr. or John.

Thanks for looking into this for me.
