My father (Eugene Gavin) was born in Scranton in 1928. His father (Thomas Gavin) was born there in about 1890. His father (Patrick Gavin) was born in Ireland, probably County Mayo about 1850. His father was John Gavin, according to Patrick's Death Certificate. There are quite a few Gavins in Scranton, and I'm thinking there is probably a relationship somewhere, but I haven't been able to find it.
