Hi all, let me jump in for a moment.I haven't read all the correspondance yet but I get the gist.I have a list of the Gazley spelling alternatives that I wrote down when I visited the place that by law needs to store historical records near Gazley, England.I did visit Gazley as well. There is a church, a pub, and a public telephone there.I also spoke briefly the the vicar. He did not know of any existing records dating back to abt 1715 when John(1) arrived in Dutchess Ct, NY.I didn't have that much time to look for records at the record keeping place in Bury St Edmond either so I couldn't confirm that any of our Gazleys came from that area.
Also I have a recent book written by a Gazley that gives a history of the Gazley name if any one is interested. I also have a family history of sorts written around 1900.
I am from John(1), John(2), Jonathan, William, Miles (of Flint, MI), Carlos (NYC), and then down through females. My hang up is finding a definitive link between William and Miles.I have the rest.
Dick
