The story goes that when a younger sister, Kathleen, was born in Cork circa 1897, the mother died, and the distraught father left the baby with relatives and took the older daughter Molly to America with him.
Not sure how accurate that is, but Kathleen did end up at a convent school in Cork City (she married a distant cousin, Frank Geary, in 1914), and Molly did end up in America. She may or may not have married a Marsden, but eventually one of her daughters married a Kelly or Kelley and had a son named Michael sometime in the 1940s.
Yep, vague. They were a secretive lot!
Hoping that's enough to go on here to get a nibble. I'd love to find out more about that Geary clan.
