Looking for information on Maruice Geary b. abt. 1842 in Ireland, his wife Luella Yates b. 1854 in NV, son Maurice E. b. 1872 in NM, and their daughter May Ellen Geary b. Dec. 18, 1873 in NV, d. March 14, 1950 in Alameda Co., CA.
I received the birth certificate of May Ellen Geary and believe this family is connected to Mary, wife of John P. Walker. I have a picture from the Nevada Museum which is marked Luella Geary, half sister to Mary Walker.
I found the Geary-Yates family in the 1875 NV census: Elko County
Geary, M 33 M White Farmer born Ireland (Maurice Geary)
Geary, L 21 F White Nevada (Luella Yates-Geary)
Geary, M.E. 4 F White Nevada (Maurice E. Geary)
Geary, M. A. 1 F White Nevada (May Ellen Geary)
I have been unable to find them in the 1880 census but their other children, William F, b. 9/25/1876, Luella b. 2/24/1880, Jenny b.10/28/1883 and Hazel b. 3/28/1886 were all born in Oakland, Alameda County, CA.
