Ellen geary married John Cronin in the kilmeedy Catholic Church on Jan. 03,1875. Witnesses were Thomas Healey and Johanna Keane and the officiating priest was John Ryan, C.C.
Civil records of the marriage sates that John Cronin was a 25 year old shoemaker from Knockaderry and his father, John Cronin was also a shoemaker. Ellen was a 20 year old servant from Kilmeedy. Her father, James Geary was a National School teacher.

John Cronin died on Nov. 14, 1897, aged 45 years. at his residence, 565 W. 43rd st., Chicago. Funeral was from St Gabriel's Church to Calvary.

Ellen and John had a son, James, born in Ireland on August 21, 1881 that died at 12 years old in Chicago on Sept 16, 1893. Funeral was from their residence at 83 Tyson ave., Lakeview to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel and then to Calvary.

Ellen and John Had 7 children born in Ireland.

Based on the births, the came to Chicago sometime after 1889.

John may be the brother of my great great grandfather, Michael Cronin born about 1854, possibly in Knockaderry. He came to Chicago in 1880. He married Catherine Minahan in 1883 at Old St. Patricks Church. Catherine came to Chicago in 1880 with her widowed mothe< Kate Minahan, nee Carey. Catherine and her mother were from around "Rathekeale".

Does anyone recognize any of these people?
