Maybe you can shed light on family stories. Louise Gebhart was my Great Grandmother. She married John Cartwright. According to these stories Louise and her two brothers were Miami Indians and were adopted by the Gebhart family who had other children as well. The three Indian children lost there parents to a cholera epidemic in the 1860's in Ft Wayne, Indiana. My grandfathjer spent time as a youth in Oklahoma "with the Indians". History of the Miami Indians indicate that some were relocated to Kansas and then Oklahoma and some remained in hiding in Indiana. This fits. One of Louise's brothers was a Frederick or Charles Frederick and was the father of Charles "Buck Jones" Gebhart. Does any of this sound familiar. Randy
