The Gebo line seems very elusive. I have this in my geneology and I am unable to get anything else on it:

Rosali Ann Gebo b. 19 Jan 1846 Shuyler Falls, Clinton, NY, d. 10 Jan 1933 Waterbury, Chittenden, VT. m. Harvey Judson Carrier (b. 13 Oct 1837 Shoreham,Addison, VT. )on the 29 Aug 1880 Port Henry, Essex, New York. Rosali's parents were:

Joseph Gebo b. Vermont or French Canada (Censuses show different places)m. ?

That's all I have of him. He had to be born no later than the 1920'2. My grandfather told me a story about the family years ago: A french trapper (that would be Joseph) married a Mohican woman. On their wedding day he gave her a coin which was kept in the family. My grandfather has since passed away and the coin is lost. There are many Gebos in Clinton county. It is highly probable they are all interrelated. Gebeau would be a likely French spelling of the name.

Good luck on making a connection. It would be great if someone were able to make some headway on that. Jo Ann Hallstrom
