Hello Marcel,

The info from Marcel Gelineau is old info that I send him years ago. The new info does list the parents of Estienne Gellineau as Charles Gellineau & Catherine Durand. The proof is in old documents. Copies of these old documents from the 1600's can be found in the book "Les Ancetres Saintongeais Des Familles Bellemare, Gelinas, Lacourse de la Nouvelle-France". You can find this book at It's written in french but full of info on the Gelinas family. Two of the authors are from Quebec and the third one from France.

I found your gr-great grandparents Victoria Gelinas & Maxime Lesieur in one of my books. Victoria's parents are Francois Gelinas & Pelagie Tousignant-Lapointe. I have this lineage back to the 1500's. If your interested, I can make copies for you. I'm glad to be of help. Just e-mail me to let me know.

Bob Gelinas
