Charles,
I just checked some of the information that I had, and I think I can say with some assurance that Lydia Gelnett was the one and only wife of Abner Hornberger, Sr.
Before the birth of John George Hornberger in 1831, they had son Casper Hornberger in 1825, and son John in 1829.This is per the 1850 census of Perry Twp., Snyder Co., PA. Son Casper was no doubt named for his maternal grandfather, Casper Gelnett.
Plus, Peggie Hornberger, whom I sent some information to, said that her great grandfather's name was Jacob Gelnett Hornberger, son of Abner and Lydia (Gelnett) Hornberger. This is quite a smoking gun as the Gelnett sons and daughters were famous for giving the middle name Gelnett to their children.
Your thoughts?
