Hi kate sorry to have taken so longto get back to you I have not yet had time to put your theory to test. Can you please give me a little more information regarding the Kelmans of Belhelvie.I intend to get a photocopy is it of his Death Certificate this will give me his parents and other valuable information I will then begin to work my way forward from there and see what I get this is all relevant to money of course no doubt Madeline has told you a little about me. My 2x great grandfather left Banchory to travel to New Zealand landing Port Chalmers< Otago Prov, New Zealand.Their destination was the tiny settlement of Riverton, in what became known as Southland Prov while they were still living the attraction here was the fact that they had family in Riverton namely the Reid's from Belhelvie, Aberdeenshire who had arrived in 1862.Both James and his wife Mary Fyfe are buried there in Riverton the family is now mainly centered in the North Island of New Zealand and of my immediate family I am the only interested in the family boneyard as my wife and others refer to it. My interest I guess stems from the fact that as a young lad I can remember an eldery gentleman asking when I was going home in a very broad scot's dialect. I had thought of placing an personal add in a Aberdeen Paper but NZ$ is pretty steep where I stand but one day I will do it. I am 53yrs old maried two sons.
Regards Raymond Kelman.
