Wondering what to do. We have been using Reunion (leister) -> Sierra -> Broderbund for 15-18 years. It is an excellent genealogy program and has served us well. I am wondering what our future is for it …. My mom and I maintain 2 large family files one with 32,000 indivs and the other with 118,000 indivs. It is chocked full of sources, photos, addresses etc. There are not many programs with the ability to function well when the filesize gets large. We really don’t want to change gen programs … But we would like continued software support and to extend with DNA etc and of course proper functionality on the latest operating systems.
I cannot find any documentation for what fixes and improvements were made for 8.5a … We are registered licensed users (2 licenses) of 8.5 … But our latest download was a patch for 8.5.1. We did not get notified of an 8.5a patch for xp sp2 … so don’t have it. And I can find nowhere to download it for licensed users. I can only find a place to purchase as if new the British version in the UK from twrcomputing.
So if I own 8.5.1 ... is there a free update to 8.5a? If not ... what will I gain by paying to get it? and what future does it have?
