You are correct. There were two John Georges. One in Wilkes County and one in Laurens on the Enoree. Further, the one on the Enoree conducted many of his transactions in Union. His property was very close to the Union County line and that is where several of his sons lived. To make matters worse, there was yet another John George who resided in Union County, SC and several of his sons had the same given name as the John George on the Enoree.
John on the Enoree was married to Jennie Ford. I have never seen documentation of this but through the children. John left Sc and moved to Eddy Creek Caldwell KY about 1805, give or take a few years. A number of his sons went with hi,. At the same time the other John from Union moved to KY as well with his sons. John George married Mary (probably Prince)in KY and died there in 1813.
I highly doubt that this clarifies anything for you. There are a number of researchers who have worked on this diligently, myself being one of them, but the John Georges of the area are a real puzzle.
