Two falcons flying above the tree. O'Conor were the provincial kings of Connacht, (and on several occasions,the high kings of Ireland) and their coat of arms is a single oak tree, denoting strength and long life. Mageraghty's version is the oak tree and two peregrin falcons flying over it. Mageraghty's lineage branched off from the O'Conors. There were four royal chieftains under O'Conor. Mageraghty was the senior royal chieftain and oversaw the Sil Murray, (O'Conor's clan territory.)
