Gerard/Gerrard and Mitchell, Ohio and Iowa
Posted by: Carolyn Yabui Date: March 07, 2002 at 14:52:38

I am descended from William Henry Gerrard (b. 1813/14 Miami Co. OH) and Mary Catharine Mitchell (b.1814/17)who married in Troy, Ohio in 1835 (his last name was incorrectly spelled as Gorard on the marriage certificate).

All children born OH: Isabella Carey, Thomas M., Nancy C., Parker B., Margaret C. (Mattie), Anna A. The family moved to Iowa County, IA by 1860. William served in the 37th IA Greybeard Vol. Inf. Reg.

William and Mary moved to Walla Walla, WA by 1880, probably to be with Isabella and her husband, Randolph Hessey, and children. William died 1894, Mary in 1901.

I can't seem to find anything on either William's or Mary's parents/families. William could be a son of Isaac Gerard, but unsubstantiated. Anything appreciated.
