I am descended from Peter Cartwright (b. 1687 in St. Mary's Co Md) who was married to Judith Slye, daughter of Robert Gerrard Slye and Pricilla Goldsmith. Some sources say Peter was also married to an Esther Slye. Who was she? Was she Judith's sister or were they one and the same person? My relative, Matthew Cartwright was the son of Peter and either Judith or Esther. I would very much like to know who was his mother.
