My information shows that William b. 1742/43 was the first son of the Rev. John Gerrard and Mehetable Haughn. The 2nd William b. 29 Aug. 1786 to the Rev. John Gerrard and Mary Gray. I can only add to the confusion, because my information shows his wives as 1) Nancy?; 2) Elizabeth Ann Ayres and 3) Sarah A. Allen. I hope, by now, you have found out something more concrete.

Do you have any information on where Rev. Gerrard came from? I cannot find anything other than he moved to (what is currently called) Gerrardstown, WV. I am a descendent through his first son William and Lucretia Ozburn; their son Jonathan and Eleanor (?); their son Caleb and ELizabrh Pultz; their son John Quincy Adams and Susanna Hurst; their son Isaac Newton and Nancy Rebecca Maxwell and (finally) their son James William and Laura Cross.
