Thomas Gerrard, King Edward II, King Edward I "The Longshanks"

I have seen reference that my 9g grandfather, Thomas Gerrard (b. Dec 10, 1608 in Newhall, Lancastershire, England, d. Feb 1, 1672/72 at Machoticks, Westmoreland County, VA, USA) was descended from King Edward II (son of Edward I "the Longshanks) but have not seen the descendancy. Can anyone share that with me? Please feel free to contact me. Thanks.
