I am looking for my g-grandmother Nancy May Garrard she was born to Amelia Kinney Taylor and John Mountjoy Garrard in Cynthiana,Ky in 1845 her siblings were Wm Wallace, Susan,James, Maria,Sarah or Sally they also moved to Indiana her mother died after 1850 Nancy had my g-aunt Cora Edith Gray nee Farrell married Thomas Jefferson Farrell they also lived in KS Cora was school teacher at Bain school also at Capitol Hill school they then went to Lawton Guthrie area her father was William Henry Clay Brown he was born in Independence,Mo 1843 Guthrie OK in 1917 of stroke he also served in CSA Missouri Home Guards under Sterling Price and CaptFinney he was taken by Gen.Halleck and pow at Alton prison in Illinois he was exchanged. Supposedly my grandfather is Nancys son by Native American man James Grey or Gray he served in Co.f Missouri Home Guards but i believe he was native of Illinois or Ala. I have been told he was Choctaw poss Cherokee mixed these are the names of his step siblings Pearl Brown Cora E.Brown poss Gray Oscar Lee,Loyal,Palmer Olive Brown if anyone knows these people let me know i have photo of them but no names on children to know whos who James Gray was CSA it has been told to me he went to Choctaw Academy in Ky also that his last name was changed or shortened HELP ME OUT THERE PLEASE SHERRY
