I am familiar with Frank Gerard. He was a resident of Bond Street Brooklyn. He was a survivor of the sinking of the paddlewheel steamer SS Evening Star. The ship sank in a hurricane October 3, 1866, off the coast of Georgia, enroute from New York to New Orleans. I have the handwritten letter that frank's wife wrote to the Captain's wife.
