There are 2 Gesaman Families

In the past 2 years I have discovered that there are at least two seperate (I think) Gesaman families. My own line starts with Samuel Gesaman, born in 1810 in Chambersburg, Franklin, Pennsylvania. He was married to Mary Harchelroad and they had seven children. They moved from Pennsylvania to Stark County, Ohio around 1846 and finally settled in Huntington County, Indiana before his death in 1886. His descendants can be found in Montana, Michigan, New York and possibly California.

The second Gesaman family I can trace back to Jacob Gesaman of Franklin County, Pennsylvania. Birthdate is unknown, but one of his children was born in 1828. He was married to Anna M. Bruch and Barbara Reicherd, having children with both. The family moved at some point to Stark County, Ohio, where Jacob died in 1861.

I have no connections between Samuel Gesaman and Jacob Gesaman, but I think there must be one. They have the same last name, lived in the same era, were both born in Franklin County, Pennsylvania, and both moved their families to Star County, Ohio.

I have a lot of info on Samuel Gesaman's family and a little sketchy info on Jacob Gesaman's family (in an effort to connect them to my own).

Elizabeth
