It is possible that your ancestor was related to mine, but I do not know. My James Gettys was born about 1816 in Co. Antrim and he married Eliza Jane Agnew who was born abt. 1815 also in Co. Antrim. They emigrated to Upstate N.Y. where some of our family associations make me believe they are from the Ballysavage/Donegore/Kilwaughter area. Eliza's brother was John Agnew who was born in Co. Antrim abt. 1818, was a tailor's apprentice (place unknown) until he arrived in Upstate N.Y. in the early 1840's where he was a tailor.
