Great-grandmother was Lavina Geurin Wright, twin sister of Louis Kendrick Geurin/Guerin; they were siblings of Thomas Geurin, Susan Geurin Fletcher, William Geurin, James Buchanan Geurin, George Washington Geurin-- they were born near Cleveland, Bradley County, Tennessee, moved to Texas by 1860 and lived at Parker County, TX, where their widowed mother Nancy Harvil Geurin married John Tyler, Primitive Baptist preacher, and had another son, Timothy Tyler. By 1863 the family lived in Cooke County, Texas. Some moved north of Red River and leased land from tribal citizens; some stayed in Montague County area after Nancy and her son Timothy sold the Tyler place after John Tyler died in 1885.
Nancy Harvil Geurin Tyler died 1898 and buried in the old Chagris cemetery in Carter County, Oklahoma.
As far as I know, the only two Geurin siblings buried in Texas were the first William and Louis Kendrick Geurin--- buried in the Mountain Creek Cemetery in NE Montague County. Susan Geurin Fletcher is buried in Garvin County, Texas and the others are buried in Carter Co., OK.
