I am like you, I have not found a will for Samuel. Looks like there should have been one in Dade Co. but so far no luck. I have got some of the information that others have posted. I just wanted some proof as to the parentage of Nancy I. D. She was born June 1835 and died January 8, 1903 in Greene Co., MO. She was buried in the Owen Cemetery just north of Springfield on Old 13 Hwy. The road went through there and just distroyed the cemetery. Broke the stones and I quess just dozed up the graves. Only a small part is left. She married James Castle Beckum Renfro in 1852 Dade Co., MO. She divorced him because he wanted to stay in Texas and she wanted to come back to MO. She then married a Hackney, then a Clark, then a Crist. I have dates for all if interested. She had family by Renfro; James Winton, John Nelson, Lewis, George A. and Mary Elizabeth (Molly). Molly married William Solomon Owen. I wondered if people were sure that George Montgomery's middle name was sure enough Washington? Maybe Winton?
Do you know where Samuel was born? He was in Carroll Co., TN in 1850 census. Some researchers claim there was another Samuel in Blount Co., TN son of James. I don't find but one and he is included in his father's will. (Thomas)
One thing that I don't understand is that there is a James on a land deal made by John P. who was the adminstrater of Thomas's will. Can you clarify that? Thanks
