Gidday Heather,
I am slowly researching my wife's family tree; her Mother's family are primarily from Lanarkshire.
In June 1853, in Barony, David Livingstone married a Mary Gibb, b. abt 1839 in Carluke, Lanark. I haven't started to research Mary's family yet, but I wonder if you are able to connect her positively to your Mary Gibb? (Daughter of Walter Gibb and Betty Scott)
David (a coal miner and then Sugarhouse labourer), and Mary had 8 children in Maryhill and Carluke.
My wife is descended from Margaret Livingstone who married a James Black and then emigrated to New Zealand.
Clutching at straws perhaps, but the dates and districts seem to fit...
Cheers
Doug Norrie
